Bio
My name is Jay Fraser and I first started with magic in 2003. Originally it was my son that was interested, and I played along and watched what he had to show. Soon, however, the magic bug bit and bit HARD! I began at home and then brought my few tricks to the bar I was working at. It went over huge and I’ve never looked back. I am now the Official Magician of Coco Key Water Resort and Hotel, in Danvers. I’m also a member of the Society of American Magician, Assembly 104. Founded in May of 1902, the S.A.M. has had over 30,000 members worldwide, including Harry Houdini himself! By joining this society, it has given me the opportunity to take in lectures by world famous magicians. Magicians such as Shawn Farquar, Wayne Houchin, Jeff McBride, Boris Wild, Chris Capehart, General Grant, Michael Vincent, David Kaye (aka Silly Billy), Mark Mason, Mickey Silver, and Richard Sanders. Each has their very own style and views on magic, and I try and absorb and learn as much from them as I can.
My business, A Creative Magic Experience, started almost by accident. While bartending at the Sheraton Ferncroft Hotel, customers really made a big deal over the magic that I did and continued to ask me for business cards and if I’d perform at their parties. I always did the magic for the smiles and shocked looks on the faces of the people I was performing for, but the thoughts of ‘making it big’ did have a certain ring to it . . . While I still love to perform for the smiles and the shocked looks, I have found that it is nice to be able to share that with others outside the hotel or bar setting. People I have met want to share the magical experience they have had with their families and friends, and by me coming into their homes or businesses they are able to do just that.
